Ink notations (unknown hand). Singer songwriter Jackie Heller (1906-1988), usually billed as "Little Jackie Heller", was 5'1" tall and weighed 105 pounds. We wrote and sold sheet music before starting the Little Jackie Heller Band, which played hotels ballrooms and nightclubs during the Depression. He appeared in several films, including The Yanks Are Coming (1942). During World War II, Heller performed on USO tours. During a 16-month tour in the Pacific, he performed in dangerous combat zones, earning the first army commendation medal awarded and entertainer in World War II and gaining the nickname, "the soldier in greasepaint." He returned to his native Pittsburgh for a decade after the war, operating the Carousel Lounge, which hosted top-flight entertainers like Martin & Lewis and Jackie Gleason. From the mid 1950s to mid-1980s, he performed in New York, Las Vegas, and on cruise lines. Soiled. Left bottom corner creased. Top left corner slightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
